University presses often require that authors provide funds to underwrite the publication of scholarly monographs and books. Press runs are often quite small and very expensive, so subventions are requested to offset costs.
AABS accepts applications for subvention grants on an ongoing basis. These grants support the publication of scholarly books and book-length translations in any field of Baltic Studies. AABS primarily supports scholarship in the humanities and humanities-related social sciences. Applications will be evaluated according to the scholarly accomplishments of the applicant, the merit of the proposed book, and its importance to the development of Baltic Studies. Please send 3 copies of each:
Normally AABS subvention grants support English-language books. Please submit application materials in English. For inquiries regarding eligibility, please contact AABS.
Every effort will be made to process applications in a timely manner, but please allow three months for response. Applicants must be current AABS members. Current board members are ineligible.
