IRPG is seeking an Assessor to serve on the staff of a NIDA-funded study, "The Men's Domestic Abuse Check-Up (MDACU)." This is a second MDACU study evaluating a telephone-delivered motivational enhancement intervention with adult males who are abusing alcohol/drugs, engaging in intimate partner violence, and are neither in counseling nor undergoing adjudication. The first MDACU study was conducted in 2006-2008. The current study will implement previously developed protocols, with revisions or enhancements to the recruitment, retention, assessment, and intervention protocols. Among this individual's key responsibilities will be conducting telephone screenings and assessments with study participants, and assisting the Project Director and Data Manager with subject recruitment and other research tasks.

Data Manager and Analyst
IPRG is seeking a Data Manager and Analyst to oversee the data management and assessment quality assurance activities associated with three current trials, as well as any future studies conducted at this group. 1) The Men’s Domestic Abuse Check-Up (MDACU) is evaluating a telephone-delivered motivational enhancement intervention with adult males who are abusing alcohol/drugs, engaging in intimate partner violence, and are neither in counseling nor undergoing adjudication. 2) Motivating Treatment Seeking and Behavior Change by Untreated Military Personnel Abusing Alcohol or Drugs. In collaboration with Ft. Lewis, this study is evaluating a brief telephone-delivered intervention with military personnel who are abusing alcohol or drugs and are not currently in treatment. 3) Marijuana Dependence Treatment (PRN). In collaboration with Virginia Polytechnic Institute, this two-year study is evaluating an in-person motivational enhancement intervention and cognitive behavior therapy with adults who are marijuana dependent.

Mental Health Practitioner (one full time and one half-time position, or 3 half-time position)
IPRG is seeking a Mental Health Practitioner to serve on the staff of

Clinical Director (Limited Term Appointment)
The UW's School of Social Work has an outstanding opportunity for a Clinical Director. This appointment will consist of approximately 10 hours of work per week, is scheduled to start 1/4/2010, and is expected to last at least 12 months. The duration of this position is contingent upon continued funding.
With funding from the National Institute on Drug Abuse, IPRG will conduct
a two-year study to preliminarily evaluate the effectiveness of an intervention
focusing on adult marijuana dependence. The intervention will involve
an adaptation of motivational enhancement therapy and cognitive behavior
therapy. The objective will be to motivate marijuana dependent adults
to maintain treatment gains post-treatment.
The Clinical Director will oversee the training and supervision of the study counselors, contribute to the development of the aftercare intervention, assist with the development of protocols related to counseling delivery, and regularly assess the fidelity of counseling.

Research Study Assistant (2 position, temporary, varies 50% to 100% FTE)
The Survey Research Division (SRD) of the Social Development Research Group (SDRG) is seeking a minimum of two temporary Locating Assistants (Research Study Assistants) to work on the in-person survey component of a longitudinal research project called the Oregon Health Study (OHS). The OHS project is a randomized controlled trial of low income individuals receiving health insurance versus low income individuals with no health insurance. These temporary appointments are scheduled to begin March 15th, 2010, and to continue through the end of 2010, with a possible extension. The work will vary between 20 to 40 hours a week.
