Manager. (Located in Downtown Seattle, South King County - Auburn/Kent)
The UW Fetal Alcohol &
Drug Unit (FADU) has an outstanding opportunity for a Case Manager.
The Parent-Child Assistance Program (PCAP) is a paraprofessional intervention
for high-risk women and their families. This position will be responsible
for providing direct outreach, home visitation case management, and
advocacy services to high-risk mothers who have used alcohol and/or
drugs heavily during pregnancy, and to their children, partners, and
extended families when needed. In addition, the Lead Case Manager will
provide support to the clinical director and team by monitoring and
facilitating day to day operations.
Note:
The funding grant identifies PCAP case managers as paraprofessionals,
therefore we are seeking applicants whose education and experience are
consistent with a paraprofessional model.

A UW research project in the Addictive
Behaviors Research Center received funding for a 2-year Random Controlled
Trial comparing treatment-as-usual to two active treatments: relapse
prevention and mindfulness-based relapse prevention, for individuals
in treatment for substance use disorders at the Recovery Centers of
King County. ABRC is recruiting therapists for the trial. They are looking
for individuals with a background in cognitive-behavioral or skills-training
treatments, preferrably individuals who have worked with substance users
in the past. The degree requirement is at least two years of graduate
training in psychology/social work. Training and ongoing supervision
will be provided throughout the course of the treatment. Therapists
will be paid hourly (probably $100-150 per group) to conduct 8 weekly
groups of the manualized relapse prevention treatment. The groups are
expected to begin in October, 2009.

Work - Innovative Programs Research Group
Project
Director.
With funding from the National Institute on Drug Abuse, IPRG will conduct
a two-year study to preliminarily evaluate the effectiveness of an intervention
focusing on adult marijuana dependence. The intervention will involve
an adaptation of motivational enhancement therapy and cognitive behavior
therapy. The objective will be to motivate marijuana dependent adults
to maintain treatment gains post-treatment.
The Project
Director will oversee all components of the study, with particular emphasis
on the development and implementation of the data collection, management,
and analysis functions.

The Social Development Research Group (SDRG) is a multi-disciplinary
group of more than 80 research faculty and staff, working to increase
understanding of social development and health risk behavior during
childhood, adolescence, and young adulthood and to use this knowledge
to develop effective prevention programs, policies and service systems.
The Data Collection Programmer will build databases and work on web
& computer based surveys using Microsoft Access and the SPSS Dimensions
integrated development environment (IDE). The IDE enables you to create,
edit, run, and debug Dimensions script using mrScriptBasic. mrScriptBasic
is based on Visual Basic and Visual Basic Scripting Edition (VBScript).

Site
Coordinator, Recovery Services for Adolescents & Families (13-month
position, located in Shoreline & Seattle)
The site coordinator will work with the CHS
Substance Abuse department staff, SAMA
Foundation and Chestnut Health Systems to implement the pilot project,
Recovery Services for Adolescents and Families. Major
responsibilities include:
- Provides
all services utilizing a strengths-based, family-focused and integrated
approach
- Provides
services in a culturally competent mannerorks with Chestnut Health
Systems and SAMA Foundation staff to implement protocols at their
site and time-lines for data collection
- Works
with Chestnut Health Systems staff to review progress of documentation
and data collection and makes any necessary modifications to protocols
- Recruits,
trains and supervises site personnel, including volunteers and the
coordination of volunteer schedules
- Oversees
participant recruitment and informed consent; Notifies relevant personnel
about new participants
- Works
with local organizations to coordinate recruitment of adolescent participants
and family members for the project
- Works
with local organizations to coordinate location of various recovery
activities (e.g. location of telephone support activities, location
of CRAFT groups)
- Coordinates
local steering committee meetings among organizations involved in
the project\
- Oversees
all aspects of site data collection, including monitoring the quality
of documentation and data collection
- Conducts
interviews of participants as needed
- Monitors
quality and timeliness of data entry, including uploading of digital
recordings used for quality assurance purposes
- In collaboration
with Chestnut Health Systems staff, assures that all site personnel
adhere to implementation expectations
- Maintains
and protects confidentiality and security of all organization information
gained in the course of performing job responsibilities, but not limited
to, financial and client information
- Must
be able to attend training in Bloomington, IL during last week of
September, 2009
