Mary Hatch-Maillette, Ph.D., is a Research Scientist at the
Alcohol and Drug Abuse Institute. She received her doctorate in clinical
psychology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and completed a postdoctoral
fellowship at the VA Puget Sound Health Care Systems Center for
Excellence in Substance Abuse Treatment and Evaluation (CESATE). Since
1994 Dr. Hatch-Maillette has collaborated on and overseen research projects
focusing on substance abuse treatment, HIV risk reduction, gender-specific
treatment, and violence risk assessment. Her clinical work has specialized
in the treatment of drug and alcohol addictions and Post Traumatic Stress
Disorder, and she currently has a part-time private practice in Seattle.
As a Project Director for the Washington Node of the Clinical Trials
Network, Dr. Hatch-Maillette has overseen several multi-site treatment
studies at local community substance abuse treatment centers. She has
also served as the National Project Director for the "Safer Sex
for Men" (CTN-00018) protocol, and as a National Lead Team member
for a study of buprenorphine for opiate dependence (CTN-0027).

- (Research) Substance abuse treatment; Risk/threat
assessment; Gender issues in forensic contexts; PTSD.
- (Clinical) Treatment of major psychiatric illness; Addictions treatment;
Comorbidity of PTSD and addictions.
Current Projects:
- NIDA Clinical Trials Network: Washington Node. A multisite
network of regional research and training centers working in conjunction
with community-based treatment programs to implement and evaluate
behavioral and pharmacological interventions with demonstrated efficacy
