About the Services:
The clinical nutritionists in Adolescent Medicine have special training and expertise in working with teens. They assess, treat and evaluate with an adolescent’s developmental needs in mind. Topics that will be covered include: growth status, food and nutrition needs, physiology of how food works, body image, socio-cultural influences on food choices, meal support for both the teen and family, and nutrition for activity/sports.
The nutritionists work closely with the other members of the Adolescent Medicine team to provide the most comprehensive, effective care. They see adolescents for the following concerns:
- Disordered eating
- Eating disorders
- Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)
- Sports Nutrition
- Weight management
