The
Adolescent Medicine Section at the University of Washington
consists of a multidisciplinary group of professionals that
are dedicated to improving the health and well-being of
adolescents.

We
seek to improve the health and welfare of adolescents now
and in the future. To do so, we serve in various roles:
- As clinicians, we strive
to provide developmentally appropriate care that is effective, comprehensive, and compassionate.
- As adolescent advocates,
we believe we have a responsibility to speak up for the
well-being both of adolescents and their families. As members of the Seattle community we have a special commitment to reaching disenfranchised youth who would otherwise be unable to receive services.
- As educators, we aim
to teach medical students, residents, and fellows how to make
the most of their training and innate capacities in order to meet the health needs of adolescents. We also aim to increase the awareness of adolescent health issues amongst providers in the community.
- As researchers, we aim
to generate and promote knowledge that will improve health and the quality of
life for adolescents and their families.
