{"id":1334,"date":"2017-08-28T16:15:33","date_gmt":"2017-08-28T23:15:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/depts.washington.edu\/advis104\/?p=1334"},"modified":"2017-08-28T16:15:33","modified_gmt":"2017-08-28T23:15:33","slug":"sdot-social-media-internship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/depts.washington.edu\/advis104\/2017\/08\/28\/sdot-social-media-internship\/","title":{"rendered":"SDOT Social Media Internship"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Seattle Department of Transportation is seeking a college undergraduate or graduate student to undertake social media communications in support of SDOT.\u00a0 Execute department&#8217;s social media strategy for Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, and other emerging applications.\u00a0 Support multi-faceted social media outreach on high profile transportation issues.\u00a0 Work with internal staff and external consultants.\u00a0 Provide as-needed support to communications team (e.g. community outreach).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Educational Benefit to Student:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Practical experience in public relations for a high profile government agency.<\/li>\n<li>Firsthand knowledge of social media in a real time and real world setting.<\/li>\n<li>Greater understanding of current and evolving social media practices and technologies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Education<\/strong>:<br \/>\nOpen all students, undergraduate and graduate students, who are enrolled in an accredited educational program preferably studying Communications or Public Relations.<\/p>\n<p>Undergraduate students will need to maintain a 2.0 GPA or above throughout the internship.
