{"id":241,"date":"2016-08-22T10:41:49","date_gmt":"2016-08-22T17:41:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/depts.washington.edu\/advis104\/?p=241"},"modified":"2016-08-25T14:46:48","modified_gmt":"2016-08-25T21:46:48","slug":"temporary-student-hourly-fiscal-support","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/depts.washington.edu\/advis104\/2016\/08\/22\/temporary-student-hourly-fiscal-support\/","title":{"rendered":"Temporary Student Hourly Fiscal Support"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Department: Aquatic and Fishery Sciences in the College of the Environment\u2028\u2028\u00a0General Duties\/Description:<\/h3>\n<p>Provide a variety of administrative support in fiscally-related duties such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist with monthly budget reconciliation including follow-up on missing documents<\/li>\n<li>Create budget and grant file folders<\/li>\n<li>Copy, fax and sort various documents<\/li>\n<li>Maintain records, perform electronic mail tasks<\/li>\n<li>File reports, receipts, and other documents<\/li>\n<li>Enter data and maintain various accounting of grant\/budget logs or databases including verify and process fiscal\/accounting data, perform basic computing, calculating and manual or automated posting of data; make corrections as required<\/li>\n<li>Assist with travel-related accounting processes<\/li>\n<li>Might occasionally deliver or pick up grant proposal\/award documents between the School of Aquatic and Fishery Sciences department and the Office of Sponsored Programs, the Grant and Contract Accounting office, or other campus departments<\/li>\n<li>Serve as back-up telephone and in-person contact, receive visitors, respond to inquiries regarding office\/departmental policies and procedures (requires substantial knowledge of school policies and procedures)<\/li>\n<li>Sort and distribute office mail if needed<\/li>\n<li>Perform other related duties as required\/assigned<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience in administrative support and office operations<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, database management software; familiarity with Access is desirable<\/li>\n<li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to interact with a wide variety of audiences and individuals including students, donors, faculty, administrators, and students is essential<\/li>\n<li>Team work orientation<\/li>\n<li>Flexibility to meet changing needs<\/li>\n<li>Ability to take initiative on projects, prioritize project work, and use good discretion in contact and communications with various audiences<\/li>\n<li>Creative problem solving skills and ability to independently identify solutions to a variety of issues<\/li>\n<li>Detail-oriented<\/li>\n<li>Must be a UW student<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Position is available now. Hourly wage based on experience.
