July 6-August 14, 8:30 am-4:30 pm + 1-half-day orientation the week of June 29 (exact<br \/>\ndate and time TBD)<br \/>\n<strong>Compensation:<\/strong> $15 per hour ($600 weekly)<\/p>\n<h5>Position Description<\/h5>\n<p>The Summer Camp Assistant supports BIMA Summer Camp Lead Instructors in daily administration and facilitation of six weeks of summer day camps, designed to engage youth in the exploration of art and craft in a fun and creative environment. This position is perfect for a responsible, creative young adult, who enjoys working<br \/>\nwith youth ages 6-17.<\/p>\n<h5>Responsibilities &amp; Duties<\/h5>\n<p>\u2022Support all camp activities, with a focus on child safety in the classroom, museum galleries, and during off-site<br \/>\nexcursions.<br \/>\n\u2022 Support Lead Instructor and students on supply preparation, daily set-up\/clean-up, attendance tracking, etc.<br \/>\n\u2022 Support Lead Instructor and students on art projects, games, and other camp activities.<br \/>\n\u2022 Supervise youth throughout break and lunchtimes, as well as during open-studio work time for older students.<br \/>\n\u2022 Communicate with Education staff about camp projects, space and supply needs, and any behavioral challenges<br \/>\nthat may arise.<br \/>\n\u2022 Support showcase of student work for families on the final day of camp each week<\/p>\n<h5>Qualifications &amp; Skills<\/h5>\n<p>\u2022 High school diploma or equivalent, must be 18 years or older<br \/>\n\u2022 Friendly, open attitude and passion for working with children<br \/>\n\u2022 Ability to work independently and collaboratively with staff and students<br \/>\n\u2022 Strong customer service skills utilizing courtesy, tact, flexibility and good judgment<br \/>\n\u2022 Strong problem-solving skills<br \/>\n\u2022 Physical ability to perform job functions<br \/>\n\u2022 Clearance of criminal background check<br \/>\n\u2022 Skills in visual art and craft preferred but not required<\/p>\n<h5>TO APPLY<\/h5>\n<p>Please submit the following to Emma Cantrell,\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:emma@biartmuseum.org\">emma@biartmuseum.org<\/a>, School &amp; Youth Programs Manager, by February 24, 2020:<\/p>\n<p>1) A brief cover letter describing your experience working with children and interest\/ability in the arts.<br \/>\n2) R\u00e9sum\u00e9<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bainbridge Island Museum of Art JOB POSTING: SUMMER CAMP ASSISTANT Reports to: School &amp; Youth Programs Manager, Summer Camp Lead Instructors Type: Contract Term: Monday-Friday.
