Residents from \u00a0a broad range of art, writing, performance and science-based practices come to Sitka to create and explore away from the familiar contexts and constraints of daily routines, and free from external expectations. Located within the unique ecosystems of Cascade Head and the Salmon River Estuary on\u00a0Oregon&#8217;s central coast, Sitka is a place where natural curiosity is sparked and creativity is unleashed.<\/p>\n<p>Since our founding, we have hosted hundreds of visual artists, photographers, writers, journalists, musicians, composers, filmmakers, educators and a broad range of natural scientists and interdisciplinary creatives. We currently invite 14-30 practitioners to stay at Sitka each year. Some are emerging voices while others are practicing professionals, and our residents represent a diversity of geographies and cultural backgrounds. A range of personal and shared experiences are possible at Sitka, from sanctuary and solitude to cross-pollination and community.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>RESIDENCY DATES<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><strong>Fall Residencies:<\/strong>\u00a0September\u00a030, 2020- January\u00a08, 2021<\/p>\n<p><strong>Spring Residencies:<\/strong>\u00a0January 18, 2021- April 28, 2021<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jordan Schnitzer Printmaking Residency Dates (for experienced artists new to printmaking):<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Session 1- Sept. 28 &#8211; Oct. 11, 2020<\/p>\n<p>Session 2- Oct. 19 &#8211; Nov. 1, 2020<\/p>\n<p>Session 3- Jan. 18\u00a0&#8211; Jan. 31, 2021<\/p>\n<p><strong>Recorder Residency Dates:<\/strong>\u00a0April to mid-May, 2021<\/p>\n<h4><strong>APPLICATION DEADLINES<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><strong>Residency applications for Fall\/Spring 2020\/2021 are due no later than March 31st, 2020.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"w-container\">\n<h4>Specialized Residencies<\/h4>\n<div class=\"text-block-52\">As part of our Residency Program, the Sitka Center offers a number of specialized residencies:<\/div>\n<div class=\"div-block-42\">\n<div class=\"w-dyn-list\">\n<div class=\"w-dyn-items\">\n<div class=\"collection-item-4 w-dyn-item\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"collection-item-4 w-dyn-item\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sitkacenter.org\/residencies\/howard-l-mckee-ecology-residency\">Howard L.
