Some evening + event hours may apply.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>The Arts Events + Marketing Intern will have a unique opportunity to assist in the creation, promotion, and development of the UW School of Art + Art History + Design brand, events and lectures, and relationships with donors, students, and alumni.<\/p>\n<p>Interested applicants should submit a resume and short cover letter\/introduction that describes past work and skills, and why you are interested in this internship. Send materials to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:mab4@uw.edu\" target=\"_blank\">mab4@uw.edu<\/a>\u00a0by\u00a0September 29th, 2016.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Assist with brand awareness, promotional efforts, and media outreach &amp; coverage. Tasks include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Developing and preparing multimedia content for the School\u2019s social media outlets, including but not limited to: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Vimeo<\/li>\n<li>Draft and finalize press releases, as assigned<\/li>\n<li>Design\/layout communications materials for advancement or marketing purposes<\/li>\n<li>Capturing photo &amp; video, editing, and archiving<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Assist staff with administrative tasks and events related to broad-based engagement\u00a0for the School of Art + Art History + Design. Tasks include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Data entry and database maintenance<\/li>\n<li>Helping set up and take down events<\/li>\n<li>Creating event material<\/li>\n<li>Preparing and mailing donor correspondence<\/li>\n<li>Other duties as assigned<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Able to work independently with attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of writing for the web and familiar with digital media and social networking tools<\/li>\n<li>Competent with Microsoft Word and Excel<\/li>\n<li>Willingness to learn new technology + database skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Desired Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator<\/li>\n<li>Some photography experience<\/li>\n<li>Experience in event planning and\/or coordination<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Educational Benefits:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Gain general office, database, and computer skills that are transferable to any arts, educational, and\/or non-profit environment<\/li>\n<li>Enhance and gain skills in creative content creation and social media networks, communications, and web marketing.<\/li>\n<li>Participate in event planning and execution with a fun and dynamic staff<\/li>\n<li>Learn about broad-based engagement from a supportive team.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>UW School of Art + Art History + Design Arts Events and Marketing Internship Position Description: This internship is offered quarterly 2 credits (if applicable).
