This is a great opportunity for currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate students who want to observe and participate in real world application of their current field of study. This opportunity will allow the intern to gain valuable experience within the Architecture &amp; Art division under our Design, Engineering and Construction Management department.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>STart utilizes 1 percent of construction budgets, as identified in each voter-approved capital initiative, to bring a human scale and thoughtful detail into the large transportation infrastructure that Sound Transit builds. Sound Transit\u2019s Art Program touches all facets of Sound Transit\u2019s facilities throughout the Puget Sound region \u2013 Link, Sounder, ST Express, and Tacoma Link. The Start intern will have an opportunity to be a part of the team that enhances the passenger experience.<\/p>\n<p><strong>JOB DUTIES:<\/strong><br \/>\nThe following duties ARE NOT intended to serve as a comprehensive list of all duties performed by all employees in this classification, only a representative summary of the primary duties and responsibilities. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional, position-specific duties.<\/p>\n<p><strong>An undergraduate student entering their junior or senior year with the following:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Demonstrated understanding and\/or experience with archival practices, including cataloging and records management.<br \/>\n\u2022 Demonstrated understanding of contemporary art practices and interest in public art.<\/p>\n<p><strong>POTENTIAL PROJECTS:\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 Assist with the development of work plans for maintenance projects.<br \/>\n\u2022 Aid with the transition documentation of artworks from construction to collection management.<br \/>\n\u2022 Entering artworks and maintenance plans into the database record.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:<\/strong><br \/>\nApplicants must be a current college student in good academic standing, enrolled in an Associate&#8217;s or Bachelor\u2019s Degree, working towards a Bachelor\u2019s Degree or graduate degree in Library Science, Arts Administration, Museum Studies (focus on Collections Management), or equivalent degree.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ADDITIONAL SKILLS:<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 Demonstrated understanding and\/or experience with archival practices, including cataloging and records management.<br \/>\n\u2022 Demonstrated understanding of contemporary art practices and interest in public art.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 Ability to work autonomously within a team environment.<br \/>\n\u2022 Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.<br \/>\n\u2022 Demonstrated ability to solve problems and work collaboratively.<br \/>\n\u2022 Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to draft succinct business correspondence.<br \/>\n\u2022 Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint<br \/>\n\u2022 Working knowledge of database principles and software.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PHYSICAL DEMANDS\/ WORK ENVIRONMENT:<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 Work is performed in a standard office environment.<br \/>\n\u2022 Subject to standing, walking, bending, reaching, stooping, and lifting of objects up to 25 pounds; may occasionally be exposed to dangerous machinery when visiting job sites during construction and when working in the field.<br \/>\n\u2022 The Agency promotes a safe and healthy work environment and provides appropriate safety and equipment training for all personnel as required.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sound Transit seeks Art Program Intern &#8211; Job Details To apply, click here!
