A catalyst for our engagement with contemporary art and artists is the Founding Collection of Charles and Emma Frye, access to which shall always be free.<\/p>\n<p>THE POSITION: Education Assistant<br \/>\nDEPARTMENT: Education<br \/>\nREPORTS TO: Director of Education &amp; Community Partnerships<br \/>\nSUPERVISES: N\/A<br \/>\nFLSA STATUS: Exempt<br \/>\nSTATUS: Full-time,\u00a035 hours per week<br \/>\nSALARY: $42,712.80-$43,680<br \/>\nBENEFITS: Full benefits including medical, dental, PTO accrual, 403(b), and more<\/p>\n<h5>POSITION SUMMARY<\/h5>\n<p>The Frye Art Museum is seeking a\u00a0flexible\u00a0and detail-oriented\u00a0team player to join the Education team. As a member of the Education team, the Education Assistant supports Youth &amp; School Programs, Creative Aging programs, public programs, and other education initiatives as needed. This position has the unique opportunity to be involved with a cross-section of the Frye\u2019s education offerings, working on\u00a0everything from tours for small groups to large-scale conferences and Community Days.\u00a0In addition, the Assistant will support the management of digital education content and help run virtual programs for a wide range of audiences; related functions\u00a0include\u00a0managing A\/V\u00a0needs for virtual education programs,\u00a0helping to produce and\u00a0edit engaging content for digital platforms,\u00a0managing ticketing and registration\u00a0for\u00a0all programs,\u00a0and other tasks as assigned.<\/p>\n<h4>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS<\/h4>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5>EDUCATION PROGRAM SUPPORT (50%)<\/h5>\n<p><strong>Tours<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"circle\">\n<li>Schedule private and self-guided tours.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain school, public, and private tour calendars. Ensure Visitor Services Representative, security staff, and Gallery Guides receive up-to-date tour schedules.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with Gallery Guide trainings, including training for new Gallery Guides, monthly trainings, and additional meetings as needed.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with evaluation of Gallery Guides.<\/li>\n<li>Step in to lead tours as needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Youth and School Programs<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"circle\">\n<li>Respond to inquiries and schedule school programs. Work with teachers to schedule programs that support their curricular needs.<\/li>\n<li>Send confirmations and invoices, track and process payments, and process bus reimbursements.<\/li>\n<li>Observe, document, and assist with school tour evaluations when needed. Facilitate discussions and step in as instructor for school tours, Art In Your Classroom, and Small Frye as needed.<\/li>\n<li>Assist Manager, Youth and School Programs with brainstorming for and staffing community outreach events.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Creative Aging Programs<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"circle\">\n<li>Collaborate on creating tours and facilitating bimonthly here:now gallery discussions for Creative Aging participants, including potential virtual sessions and video recordings.<\/li>\n<li>Work with Manager, Creative Aging Programs to coordinate dates for classes, tours, lectures and other programming.<\/li>\n<li>Support Manager, Creative Aging Programs with annual Creative Aging Conference, including on-site assistance during conference.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Public Programs<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"circle\">\n<li>Coordinate travel accommodations, including flight and hotel reservations, for guests and contractors.<\/li>\n<li>Staff monthly on-site ticketing for Art History Lecture Series with Rebecca Albiani.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Digital Media and Virtual Programs<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"circle\">\n<li>Support Education team in designing, producing, editing, and implementing digital content and live, recorded, or interactive virtual programs.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with the publishing of content, including images, video, audio, PDFs, and more to the Frye\u2019s blog and\/or website.<\/li>\n<li>Work with web-based multimedia formats for education programs, including streaming audio\/video via Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Streamyard, and\/or other platforms.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain audio and video archives of programs.<\/li>\n<li>Identify enhancements and plan future improvements to user experience and\/or internal workflow.<\/li>\n<li>Troubleshoot live virtual programs, links, navigation, and registration pages to ensure reliability of experience for visitors and make corrections as required.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with Communications Department to: manage digital content; gauge community input and response to Frye exhibitions and programs; research and test existing and emerging digital channels to expand the Museum\u2019s reach.<\/li>\n<li>Apply best practices for accessibility, usability, and agility of digital content and virtual programs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5>DATABASE AND TICKETING (30%)<\/h5>\n<ul class=\"circle\">\n<li>Manage all ticketing and reservations for all Education programs via online, mail, and phone orders; generate receipts\/send confirmation emails and information to program participants. Issue refunds. Troubleshoot errors in purchasing and processing.<\/li>\n<li>Serve as the primary Box Office contact for Education by supervising the ticketing process.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with the Database Administrator to maintain email lists for education and arts engagement programs and maintain lists for outreach.<\/li>\n<li>Work with Communications Department to build event pages for programs.<\/li>\n<li>Serve as a back-up to create reports, export mailing lists, and provide queries from Altru database.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5>DEPARTMENT-WIDE ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES (20%)<\/h5>\n<ul class=\"circle\">\n<li>Provide support for on-site and virtual programs, including food orders and deliveries, staffing check-in, managing volunteers, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare event checklists for program setup and keep internal calendars updated.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate set-up and break down of programs with Facilities, Security, and Curatorial teams.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate education program information, including set-up, attendance, and updates, in Altru.<\/li>\n<li>Collect and track attendance and feedback for all programs.<\/li>\n<li>Compile and format department board report.<\/li>\n<li>Respond to public inquiries regarding educational programming via phone and email.<\/li>\n<li>Serve as TeenTix contact for sharing relevant programs and events.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate all department artwork requests and coordinate EmbARK Database needs with Collections Department.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with drafting contracts and process invoices as needed.<\/li>\n<li>Document programs via photo or video as needed.<\/li>\n<li>Support other education programs and initiatives as needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED<\/h4>\n<ul class=\"circle\">\n<li>Professional experience in a museum or non-profit setting with a focus on education programs.<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of inquiry- and object-based teaching methodologies and museum education theory is strongly preferred.<\/li>\n<li>Studio art background or experience is helpful.<\/li>\n<li>Teaching or tour experience, especially with children, is preferred.<\/li>\n<li>Experienced user of Zoom and Microsoft Teams.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with ticketing and registration processes, such as Altru\/Blackbaud, is preferred.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of Mailchimp, Squarespace, and video editing and production is helpful.<\/li>\n<li>Working knowledge of new technologies in education and the arts.<\/li>\n<li>Fluency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams).<\/li>\n<li>Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent written and oral communication skills.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent team player with abilities to motivate and work cooperatively and effectively with Museum staff, as well as work well independently.<\/li>\n<li>A self-starter with the ability to operate with purpose, urgency, and accuracy both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment with concurrent deadlines and rapidly changing priorities.<\/li>\n<li>Exceptional time management, project management, and excellent organizational skills.<\/li>\n<li>Detail-oriented with ability to prioritize, manage, and multitask; ability to coordinate complex schedules and analyze and solve problems.<\/li>\n<li>Professional demeanor and ability to interact with all levels within the organization and external vendors.
