The deadline to apply is Jan. 31!<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>SEATTLE \u2013<\/strong>\u00a0MOHAI\u00a0is proud to announce the museum\u2019s new\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mohai.org\/program\/curators-fellowship\/\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/mohai.org\/program\/curators-fellowship\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1643120952044000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0WKEelrz-ElfavCkCtH_GV\">Curator\u2019s Fellowship<\/a>\u00a0program, inviting community and academic historians to bring a new perspective to MOHAI\u2019s extensive collections. The program prioritizes research that includes stories of historically marginalized or excluded communities, particularly Black, Indigenous, and People of Color.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Curator\u2019s Fellow conducts research over six months, including up to 20 hours of research in the MOHAI collections. The Fellow will receive a stipend of $5,000 and present their work as part of MOHAI\u2019s annual lecture series in the Fall where curators and special guests will share new perspectives on MOHAI\u2019s artifacts, exhibits, and stories.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Potential research topics include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Centering Native perspectives in artifacts or photographs that appropriate Native art.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Finding untold stories from the Al Smith Collection, specifically those not featured in MOHAI\u2019s 2017 exhibit\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mohai.org\/exhibit\/seattle-on-the-spot\/\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/mohai.org\/exhibit\/seattle-on-the-spot\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1643120952044000&amp;usg=AOvVaw1sH5eX4D81RkEVDOvFn0iA\">Seattle on the Spot: The Photographs of Al Smith<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Revealing the history of the development of Seattle neighborhoods, particularly those south of the ship canal.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These are provided as examples and to inspire proposals that we have not yet imagined.
