The fellowship is for individuals who identify as Black, Indigenous, or a Person of Color (BIPOC) and are seeking leadership positions in arts administration.<\/p>\n<p>The paid fellowship includes hands-on work experience in arts administration and learning opportunities including leadership training, skill building, mentorship, and networking. The fellowship cohort will engage in peer-to-peer learning, connect with local arts leaders, and build a strong network to support their career development.<\/p>\n<h4>APPLICATIONS FOR 2022\/23 NOW OPEN<\/h4>\n<p>The fellowship is open to all applicants identifying as BIPOC. Ideal candidates will be individuals who aspire to become leaders in arts organizations, have a passion for the arts, and display an interest in developing new, creative ways to lead arts organizations.<\/p>\n<p>If you are interested in applying for the fellowship, please submit the following material via our application portal\u00a0<strong>by 11:59 PM PST on March 6, 2022<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>R\u00e9sum\u00e9<\/li>\n<li>Cover letter<\/li>\n<li>Reference letters (up to three)<\/li>\n<li>Written responses to the following questions (up to 250 words)\n<ul>\n<li>What is the importance of the arts and\/or arts organizations in our current culture and society?<\/li>\n<li>What do you hope to learn and gain from this fellowship?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Access to the portal is available via the links below. Please contact us at\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:fellowship@seattleopera.org\">fellowship@seattleopera.org<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Application deadline: March 6, 2022 at 11:59 PM PST<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4>SELECTION PROCESS<\/h4>\n<p>Applications will be reviewed by a committee consisting of staff from Seattle Opera, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Seattle Symphony, KING FM, and Seattle University.<\/p>\n<p>Applicants will be reviewed on the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Potential and interest to be a leader in the arts<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated interest in the advancement of opera, ballet, and\/or orchestra<\/li>\n<li>Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and through writing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>After the initial review, a small pool of applicants will be invited to an interview either in-person or via Zoom in March 2022. Fellows will be selected in April and will begin their fellowship in Seattle on July 1.<\/p>\n<h4>SELECTED PARTICIPANTS<\/h4>\n<p>Fellowship participants will be notified by April 2022. Fellows are expected to participate in a full-time (37.5+ hours) fellowship position in Seattle from July 2022 to June 2023. In addition, Fellows will participate in:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Meetings and check-ins with their Leadership Mentor<\/li>\n<li>Monthly cohort meetings<\/li>\n<li>Leadership and career development trainings and workshops<\/li>\n<li>Meetings with local arts leaders<\/li>\n<li>Networking opportunities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>COMPENSATION<\/h4>\n<p>Positions are full-time and will pay a salary of $50,000.
