The ideal Associate will have an appreciation and passion for Native American cultures, fine arts and craftsmanship, and will be eager to both learn and educate as they interact with both Native artists and a diverse customer base. The Associate should be comfortable with high touch sales techniques, have experience with inventory management, and strong communication and listening skills. This position will have the opportunity to help shape the development of the store through arts and inventory curation.<\/p>\n<p>Job Duties<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Contribute to the success of United Indians\u2019 Mission and Programs, through the sale of Native American made and designed arts &amp; goods<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Provide high touch shopping experiences to a diverse clientele, identifying needs and wants, and closing sales to the satisfaction of each customer<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Understand and share the stories of featured Artists, accurately representing Indigenous communities and cultures<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Handle final steps of each sale through accurate ringing of merchandise, and payment handling<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Neatly restock inventory and keep a clean store, cleaning shelves and surfaces<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Maintain a clean and neat personal appearance and presentation<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Organizing merchandise displays to highlight featured products and promote sales<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Other duties as assigned<\/p>\n<p>Required Education and Experience Duties<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 High School Diploma or GED<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Basic mathematical proficiencies<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Previous retail and sales experience required<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, and SharePoint<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Familiarity with Shopify<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Must be able to work a flexible schedule<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Cultural sensitivity and appreciation of diversity in ethnicity, culture, spiritual practices and lifestyles.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Able to lift and\/or move up to 50lbs.<\/p>\n<p>Other Qualifications<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>21 years old and older<\/li>\n<li>Pass a basic criminal history background inquiry<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Compensation<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 $20.00-22.50\/hour depending on Associate experience<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Health, Vision, Dental coverages all paid 100% for Full time employees.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Partial paid health insurance coverage for dependents optional<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 PTO includes Sick and Vacation time earned, paid Bereavement benefits, and jury duty leave provided with approval<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Paid Holidays, with option of taking Holiday PTO within 30 days if scheduled to work day of.<\/p>\n<p>*This job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by the person assigned to this position.
