Job Description:<\/strong>
\nBrand new ceramics studio in downtown historical Snoqualmie seeking a ceramics instructor
\nwith experience in wheel throwing, hand building and glazing. Electric kiln loading\/unloading
\nand firing knowledge is preferred but not required.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s what you\u2019d be doing:<\/strong>
\n– Teaching small classes of 6 people at a time, primarily adults ages 16 and older. During
\nthe summer there will be camps for kids ages 6-12.
\n– Teaching short 2 hour classes as well as 6 week long courses where students meet once
\nper week for 3 hours a session.
\n– Loading\/unloading and firing the kiln (after properly trained)
\n– Lesson planning. You will have the freedom to teach what you want as long as it fits
\nwithin certain parameters that make sense for beginners and the class type.<\/p>\n

Requirements:<\/strong>
\n– High School Diploma or GED
\n– At least 18 years old
\n– Able to lift up to 50lbs without help
\n– Must have weekend availability
\n– Portfolio of work. Student work can be included
\n– Work up to 4 hours per shift<\/p>\n

Experience:<\/strong>
\n– Bachelors in art or equivalent, or near graduation
\n– At least 1 year experience working with clay required
\n– Confident wheel throwing and\/or hand building required
\n– 1 year teaching and\/or customer service experience preferred but not required
\n– Comfortable teaching kids 6-12 years of age during the summer
\n– Knowledge of how to load\/unload a kiln preferred but not required<\/p>\n
