Family Programs<\/div>\n<div><b>COMPENSATION:<\/b>\u00a0$31.44 &#8211; $38.43 per hour<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Responsibilities will include the following, but are not limited to:<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><b>Youth Programs \u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n<div>Lead the museum\u2019s efforts to serve youth audiences<\/div>\n<div>With a focus on project management, plan and execute programs, including Teen Arts Group (year-long museum education program), Design Your Neighborhood (community-based design program in partnership with a local organization and a local artist), Teen Night Out (after-hours public event for youth), SAM Works (career development programs for youth interested in the arts), Youth volunteers and high school internships, and offsite outreach tabling<\/div>\n<div>Cultivate and build meaningful partnerships with a variety of community stakeholders including community learning centers, schools, and youth-serving organizations to sustain innovative audience development and outreach<\/div>\n<div>In collaboration with teammates, develop tours, resource materials, and learning experiences for middle and high school aged youth<\/div>\n<div>Ensure institutional protocols and procedures are followed in reserving dates and spaces, requesting tech and A\/V support, submitting contract and disbursement requests, and other cross-departmental functions<\/div>\n<div>Oversee teen programs interns, TAG members, and Teaching Artists<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><b>\u00a0Departmental Duties<\/b><\/div>\n<div>Work with Division staff to reflect on programs through visitor surveys, participant interviews, self-reflection, and other evaluation projects<\/div>\n<div>Manage SAMTeens social media, help generate and coordinate development of marketing materials for all youth programs and resources<\/div>\n<div>Collaborate with Division staff for other audiences including families, general audiences, and school programs<\/div>\n<div>Provide regular reports (both qualitative and quantitative) to support grant reporting, evaluations, and program summaries<\/div>\n<div>Provide information on expenditures and revenue as part of the division\u2019s budgeting cycles<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><b>Other Duties<\/b><\/div>\n<div>Contribute to an institutional focus of delivering exceptional, welcoming, and inclusive customer service\u2014creating positive, meaningful experiences for all visitors, every time<\/div>\n<div>Participate in institutional learning opportunities to grow our collective understanding and integration of antiracism, cultural competency, and equity values into SAM\u2019s work<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><b>WE ARE LOOKING FOR\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><b>Required Qualifications<\/b><\/div>\n<div>Bachelor\u2019s degree in education, art education, curriculum &amp; instruction, museum studies, or equivalent combination of education and experience<\/div>\n<div>Three years classroom or informal teaching or relevant work experience<\/div>\n<div>Experience with creative youth development, youth mentorship, or teaching middle and high school-aged young people<\/div>\n<div>Some knowledge of 6-12 educational standards across grade levels, Common Core, and local school district standards<\/div>\n<div>Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with diverse youth audiences<\/div>\n<div>Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with executives, management, staff, and the public<\/div>\n<div>Strong orientation to teamwork, collaboration, and flexibility<\/div>\n<div>Professional\u202fverbal and written communication, with an ability to tailor communications according to audience<\/div>\n<div>Ability to simultaneously manage several projects<\/div>\n<div>Successfully assess priorities and work well with deadlines, time management, and problem-solving skills<\/div>\n<div>Exercise discretion in maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information<\/div>\n<div>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom, Asana, Slack, and internet-based research<\/div>\n<div>Ability to pass and maintain security background check clearance<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><b>Preferred\u00a0Qualifications<\/b><\/div>\n<div>Knowledge of learning theories<\/div>\n<div>Experience in a museum or similar environment<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><b>ABOUT SAM\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n<div>Seattle Art Museum\u2019s vision is to be the museum for all of Seattle\u2014a bold, dynamic hub of creativity, belonging, and cultural leadership, shaping the future of art and community. However, the needs of this role require a willingness to work a flexible schedule in support of the department or organization as self-directed or directed by your supervisor. SAM\u2019s hybrid work policy is subject to change.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><b>WORK CONDITIONS\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n<div>Exposure: Work areas are primarily inside, in a climate-controlled environment with moderate background noise.<\/div>\n<div>Stationary Work: Approximately 80% of time is spent stationary while working on a personal device.\u00a0 Balance of time (approximately 20%) is spent moving around the work area.
