The curriculum encourages students to explore new materials and techniques, develop creative problem-solving skills and to celebrate self-expression. Gage offers instruction in principles of drawing, painting, and sculpting and is dedicated to helping students of all ages and skill levels realize themselves as artists in contemporary society.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>WHO YOU ARE:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You are a\u00a0<strong>Community Advocate\u00a0<\/strong>who loves to share the school\u2019s mission and objectives.<\/li>\n<li>You are a\u00a0<strong>Collaborator\u00a0<\/strong>who likes to be part of a small, cohesive program staff and nurture team members\u2019 talents and knowledge to help advance the organization.<\/li>\n<li>You are\u00a0<strong>Creative<\/strong>, thinking of innovative approaches to youth art instruction.<\/li>\n<li>You know the<strong>\u00a0Impact of Arts Learning<\/strong>\u00a0because, either personally or professionally, you have experienced how the arts can enhance social, emotional, and cognitive development at any age.<\/li>\n<li>You believe that\u00a0<strong>Art is Essential<\/strong>\u00a0to thriving cities and should be\u00a0<strong>Accessible for All.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Set up &amp; break down studios daily<\/li>\n<li>Create a clean environment where kids and teens can safely enjoy themselves<\/li>\n<li>Supervise youth artists to ensure positive and safe learning atmosphere<\/li>\n<li>Provide instructors with hands-on classroom support<\/li>\n<li>Assist instructor with overall classroom management<\/li>\n<li>Manage online classrooms through zoom and other online platforms<\/li>\n<li>Provide one-to-one assistance &amp; feedback to students, as needed<\/li>\n<li>Mediate\/solve in-classroom conflicts (e.g. disruptive behavior)<\/li>\n<li>Work cooperatively with instructors &amp; other teaching assistants<\/li>\n<li>Create an inclusive environment for all<\/li>\n<li>Maintain a professional relationship with students, parents, &amp; Gage staff<\/li>\n<li>Manage, gather, and organize supplies for instructor daily; monitor supply and materials usage<\/li>\n<li>Provide structured activities for the Creative Care program, Monday \u2013 Friday from 8am-9:15am OR 3:30pm-5pm<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>QUALIFICATIONS:<\/p>\n<p>We place a high value on commitment, trustworthiness, diversity, and a growth mindset coupled with professional experience.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Required<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience working with youth.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.)\u00a0(tables, easels, model stands, etc.), sweep and mop floors, empty trash, and other clean up duties as assigned.<\/li>\n<li>CPR\/First Aid certified \u2013 Gage will provide reimbursement<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Preferred<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Artistic background with knowledge of art materials a plus<\/li>\n<li>Ability to engage youth in art-making activities<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of Zoom, Padlet, and other distance learning tools &#8211; For Teen online camps only.<\/li>\n<li>Team player &amp; problem-solver with ability to balance competing priorities<\/li>\n<li>Detail-oriented, fun and creative, energetic, warm, a good planner, and self-starter, loves working with teens or kids!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>GAGE\u2019S COMMITMENT TO EQUITABLE HIRING PRACTICES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At Gage, we embrace our team\u2019s diverse experiences and perspectives, and we strive to be reflective of the community we serve.
