Dr. Karen I. Fredriksen-Goldsen is the Principal Investigator on Caring and Aging with Pride, the first national project to study health and wellness among lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender elders and their caregivers. She is an Associate Professor at the University of Washington School of Social Work, Director of the Institute for Multigenerational Health, Gerontological Society of America Fellow, Hartford Scholar and Founder of the GSA Rainbow Research Group. Co-Investigators on this pioneering project are Drs. Charles Emlet, Elena Erosheva, Hyun-Jun Kim, Karina Walters, Nancy Hooyman and Anna Muraco. As part of this ground-breaking project we are building collaborations with community based LGBT agencies across the nation to work together as partners to better understand the health within and across our communities.
