Welcome to the Agrobacterium tumefaciens C58 genome resource. The goal of this website is to provide the public and the scientific community access to genomic data for A. tumefaciens strain C58, a representative of the biovar I group of Agrobacteria.

Sequencing and analysis of C58 was produced by a multinational collaboration between industry and academia. This collaboration included researchers at the University of Washington Genome Center, the Bioinformatics laboratory at the University of Campinas in Brazil, The Institute for Genomic Research, SRI International, the E.I. du Pont de Nemours company, Pioneer Hi-Bred International and the University of Washington's Crown Gall group. Please see our contributor page for more information. This work was supported by a grant from the National Science Foundation. Additional support was provided by the du Pont de Nemours company, the National Institutes of Health, and FAPESP.

Project status: The genome analysis is complete and the results of this work were published in the 14 December 2001 issue of Science. Supplemental data is available at the Science website or in an updated form via these web pages.
