See a travel medicine doctor before you explore the world

One of the most important things to do besides packing your bags for your upcoming trip abroad is to be aware of health advisories of your particular destination. Just last night I went to a meeting with my son who is going on a three week service trip to Nicaragua. We were fortunate that one of the parents is a doctor who pointed out that there are many elements to consider when deciding what immunizations and precautions to take before you leave.

Is there a rainy season? Will you be in a rural community? Where and how will food be prepared? The best advice is to check in with a doctor who specializes in travel health. We discovered a great article that we found in our inbox from uweek. Check out great resources and tips and you’re on your way to a great vacation.
