A small band of UW travelers stormed the beaches of Normandy on the anniversary date of June 6th. It was a poignant and moving experience to walk on the sands of Omaha and Utah beaches where so many of our men lost their lives. We even ran into a veteran who was revisiting the very spot where he landed some 55 years ago.
