Welcome to the 46th Annual AMA Sheth Foundation Doctoral Consortium
On behalf of co-chairs Doug MacLachlan, Rob Palmatier, and Rich Yalch, as well as the entire Marketing Department at the Michael G. Foster School of Business, let me say how pleased we are to have you join us in Seattle on the University of Washington campus.
I've been dean since 2005, but back in the day I served as chair of the American Accounting Association's Doctoral Consortium. Thus, I have an appreciation for the intellectual excitement surrounding a meeting of leading scholars and top PhD students. This is a wonderful opportunity to jointly explore the critical issues facing the field of marketing and push the boundaries of established research paradigms.
"Think Differently — Make a Difference" is the theme of this year's consortium. What a fitting title for a meeting where you discuss innovative approaches to solving truly important problems. I extend my sincere appreciation to each of the faculty members participating in the Consortium. Your creativity, and the relevance of your research, is sure to inspire the next generation of marketing scholars. I also congratulate the Consortium Fellows on being selected to attend this important event. Your enthusiasm, questions, and comments will make the Consortium one of the more enjoyable and important meetings you will attend in your academic career.
Regards and best wishes for a great meeting,
