THE FINAL EXAMINATION

The preparation of a dissertation brings the student to the Final Examination. This consists of an oral presentation of the completed research in a seminar open to the public, to be delivered as part of the Department of Applied Mathematics Seminar Series. After the seminar, the student is expected to defend his/her contributions and results by responding to questions from the audience in a public session, and by members of the Supervisory Committee in a closed session.
