Overview

AMTAS' semiannual meeting of academic and industry partners attracted 70 attendees.

The meeting included:

  • A Center activities report  
  • Updates from current and new AMTAS PIs about their research 
  • Review of the April 12 AMTAS meeting brainstorming sessions with industry participants 
  • Discussion of potential future research and training topics

Outcomes of Research/Education Topics Discussion

There was vigorous discussion of potential new research and short course topics (see page 2 of agenda).

The following topics appeared to be of most interest (not in priority order):

  • Control of cure procedures during repair  
  • Long-term durability 
  • Facesheet delamination–internal pressures 
  • Over-cooked parts–heat degradation
  • Systematic study of variability
  • FEA short course—include optimization and real-world case studies
  • Attendees listen to presentations.
