Advanced composite materials such as carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP) are being applied to many aircraft structures including the Boeing 787 to improve performance and save weight. Continual advances in structural analysis and design, computational methods, and fatigue and fracture analysis require that engineers refresh their knowledge of the fundamentals and be informed about new developments. Taught by leading experts from academia, industry and government, this intermediate-level course covers fundamental and state-of-the-art technologies in ten major areas of composites. |
