Summary

This meeting was the first annual technical peer review of the FAA Joint Advanced Materials and Structures (JAMS) Center of Excellence and FAA Materials and Structures Branch. JAMS is comprised of the Center of Excellence for Advanced Materials in Transport Aircraft Structures (AMTAS) and the Center of Excellence for Composites & Advanced Materials (CECAM). The May 24–26, 2005 event was hosted by CECAM.

The purpose of this meeting was to gain feedback from industry, government and academia regarding the research in progress for the JAMS, as well as showcase the center's research in composites, advanced structures and crashworthiness. It also highlighted related research from the FAA Materials and Structures Branch (AAR-450).
