Case Requirements

Keep track of your cases and confirm that the UW tracking system is accurate. You are ultimately responsible for fulfilling the required number of case requirements.

Ambulatory anesthesia

100 Ambulatory surgical cases
   

Cardiac anesthesia

20 Cases with CPB
20 Major vascular
20 Intrathoracic, non-cardiac
   

Neuroanesthesia

20 Intracranial including some intracranial vascular
   

OB Anesthesia

40 Labor & vaginal delivery anesthetics including some high-risk
20 Cesarian sections including some general anesthetics
 

Pediatric anesthesia

15 < 1 y/o, some < 45 weeks post-conceptual age
85 < 12 y/o

Regional Anesthesia

50 Epidural anesthetics (including c-sections)
50 Subarachnoid blocks
40 Peripheral nerve blocks
25 Nerve blocks for acute, chronic, and cancer pain disorders
   

Other

  Documentation of involvement in post-op management
Minimum of 1 month structured PACU experience
Familiarity with PCA & epidural management
Significant experience with airways, lines and monitoring (FOB, DLT, LMA, PAC, CVC, A-lines, EEG, SSEP)
A rotation in an ICU with hands on experience
Didactic instruction and experience involving the geriatric population
