Isabelle Sarton-Miller (PhD Washington 2005)
Research Interests
Energetics: easy and accurate ways to measure energy expenditure (EE) in fieldwork situation, estimation of energy expenditure in children performing subsistence labor, high altitude biological and cultural adaptation.
“I am currently a post-doctoral research associate of Dr. Patricia Kramer at the
University
of
Washington
. We are studying how people walk using motion and footprint analysis. Also, we are exploring some aspects of energy expenditure, such as the effect of inclines and of load carrying. My dissertation research focused on the development of an easy and affordable method to estimate energy expenditure in fieldwork situations.”
