Undergraduate Research in Anthropology at the University of Washington

If you are interested in undergraduate research in anthropology at UW, you can explore one or more of the following:

  1. Talk to an anthropology faculty member in your area of interest. He or she may be able to serve as your mentor.

  2. Join our Honors Program and carry out honors research

  3. Check out the Undergraduate Research Program of the UW

    • Find research opportunities and funding sources
    • Consider a Mary Gates Undergraduate Research Fellowship

  4. Participate in our Archaeology Field School

  5. Attend the annual UW Undergraduate Research Symposium

    • See poster and oral presentations of undergraduate research

  6. Take Research 101, an interactive on-line tutorial for students wanting an introduction to research skills.

    • The tutorial covers the basics, including how to select a topic and develop research questions, and how to select, search for, find, and evaluate information sources.
