Topic: Web Design and Dreamweaver 4

Presenter:     Nedra Pautler, M.S., M.A.

Objectives:

  • To be able to describe elements of good Web design

  • To design a basic Web page using Dreamweaver 4

  • To be able to discuss the purposes of Database-Driven Web Design

Introduction:

The main purpose of this module is to introduce you to basic Web design concepts and Macromedia Dreamweaver software tools for creating Web sites.

Before we can successfully use Dreamweaver or any of the other Web editing tools we need to understand the context in which Web pages exist and how their content is transferred from the creator’s desktop to the user’s. For some of you this material may be familiar, and this lecture will serve as a review. For others, this will be new and will help us begin our work in Dreamweaver with a common understanding of the environment and a common vocabulary.
