Research Interests

During Jim's tenure of almost 30 years at APL, underwater acoustics has been his central theme. His studies have covered the spectrum from basic research to advanced applications. He has authored or co-authored scientific and technical publications and has served as Chief Scientist on numerous at-sea expeditions. He currently leads a team of scientists and engineers at APL and frequently shares PI responsibilities with Dr. Robert C. Spindel, Dr. Bruce Howe and Dr. Robert Odom.
