Jim
Mercer is a Principal Physicist in the Ocean Acoustics Department.

Research
Interests
During Jim's tenure of almost 30 years at APL, underwater acoustics
has been his central theme. His studies have covered the spectrum from
basic research to advanced applications. He has authored or co-authored
scientific and technical publications and has served as Chief Scientist
on numerous at-sea expeditions. He currently leads a team of scientists
and engineers at APL and frequently shares PI responsibilities with
Dr. Robert C. Spindel, Dr. Bruce Howe and Dr. Robert Odom.
