Specialized design studios each year connect students to local and international communities, and give them opportunities to develop highly specialized skills. Each year, department publications, Column 5 and Skin, disseminate faculty and student scholarship and design work. Regular exhibitions and lectures infuse new design ideas and visions into the department.
