PRE-MAJORS
Students preparing to apply to the B.A. in Architectural Studies program must take a series of course prior to application. These include Architecture 210-211: Design Drawing, and Architecture 350-351-352: History of Architecture.

NON-MAJORS
The Department of Architecture offers several courses for students who are interested in a general introduction to architecture or architectural history. These include Architecture 150-151: Appreciation of Architecture, Architecture 220: Introduction to Architectural Structures, and Architecture 251: World Architecture - Non-Western Cultures.
Many of the specialized courses offered bythe Department of Architecture are also open to students from outside the Department. These include courses in architectural history, media, design computing. Students interested in specific courses should contact the Department for information about access to each course.

PROFESSIONALS
The Department of Architecture offers courses that are tailored to serve practicing professionals as well as students enrolled in department programs. Examples include Architecture 476: Design & the International Building Code and Architecture 572: Specifications and Contracts . Many of these courses are offered in the evening so as not to conflict with regular working hours. Enrollment in these courses is handled through UW Extension. In addition, the College of Architecture & Urban Planning offers a Professional Continuing Education program. The program offers focused seminars on topics of specific interest to practicing professionals. Click here for more information about this program.
