Mission: To build relationships between researchers and community partners, conduct cancer-related research, and translate research into community practice.
The Alliance for Reducing Cancer, Northwest (ARC NW) is a regional collaborative team of cancer prevention and control experts whose mission is to evaluate and respond to gaps in the Guide to Community Preventive Services (the Community Guide). The Community Guide focuses on cancer screening, nutrition, physical activity, and tobacco.
The overall ARC NW aim is to design and obtain funding for community-based translational research to reduce cancer among priority populations. Our primary focus is on enhancing worksite health promotion activities surrounding cancer prevention, improving colorectal cancer screening utilization, and addressing prostate cancer quality of life and informed decision-making issues.
