Becoming a Reviewer
The Anesthesia Closed Claims Project is actively soliciting reviewers. The project is seeking anesthesiologists to become volunteer reviewers of malpractice closed claims files on site at malpractice insurance organizations.
The minimum requirement for participation as a volunteer reviewer is to be an American Board of Anesthesiology certified anesthesiologist with a minimum of 5 years post-residency and currently active in the practice of anesthesiology and/or pain medicine. Anesthesiologists with specialty boards with pain management are especially encouraged to apply. Some reviewers are located near a participating malpractice insurance organization, others travel out of state for a two day review of claims. New reviewers are provided with a packet of materials and sample data collection forms, and are trained onsite by experienced reviewers.
