Summer Courses

Intensive Asian language courses let you earn a year's worth of language credit in nine weeks. Below is the tentative schedule of upcoming summer courses.


This upcoming Summer Quarter, we will be offering intensive language courses in the following levels:

  • CHINESE: 134 (First year, non-heritage) & 234 (Second year, non-heritage).
  • JAPANESE: 134 (First year), 234 (Second year) & 311 (Third Year).
  • KOREAN 301, 302, & 303 (First year for novice learners).
  • HINDI 311, 312, & 313 (Elementary Hindi)

Sessions run from June 13 to August 22. They are held DAILY from 8:30 to 1:30 (including lecture and quiz components). Each course covers roughly the same material that we offer in our equivalent nine month courses that span the entire academic year.

Special Instructions for those who wish to study Chinese in the Summer:

  1. You are required to fill out our on-line Chinese language evaluation questionnaire sometime during April 14- April 30. You will need to be a registered Summer Quarter student in order to do this.
  2. After this process; one of our instructors will give you an add code that you wil use to register for the class.
  3. Register for the appropriate Chinese language course using the online registration system as specified by the Summer Quarter. It is important that you register as soon as possible, since classes fill up quickly.
