Research Interests

  • Acquisition of Korean as a second language
  • Sociolinguistics (language attitudes and language variation)

Curren Research Projects

  • Learner motivations as predictors of language learning outcomes
  • Conversation analysis (code-switching between L1 and L2)
  • Distribution of L1 and target L2 in second/foreign/heritage language teaching and learning
  • Development of pronunciation accuracy among learners of Korean as a second/foreign/heritage language
  • Compiling teaching materials for beginning and intermediate level Korean
