HPSS Operations Guide

The High Performance Storage Subsystem (HPSS) will provide archival storage for internal C&C users (e.g. backups) and Uniform Access customers (previous Unitree users).

These are operations instructions and guides for the HPSS system.

Running HPSS involves a few simple steps:

1. Logging in. How to login to the HPSS system.
2. Starting HPSS. How to start the servers. Usually you do this at system boot.
3. Watching HPSS. How to monitor HPSS. What windows to watch; what to look for.
4. Problems. Some known problems we have encountered. How to spot them. What to do.
