Overview

Login to HPSS and get the Health and Status window. This sometimes has yellow status. That's OK for now.

• disk_backup_16m. This is backup's disk cache. If the Free Space runs out (at about 3MB) backup will start to get those err=28 errors. That shouldn't happen.

• tape_backup_16m_1. This is backup's first tape copy. The free space shows the number of available empty tapes. If that runs out no migration can take place, the cache will fill, and backups will stop. This won't happen as long as the tape are repacked often enough. See the specific instructions for repacking tapes.

• tape_backup_16m_2. This is backup's second tape copy. Otherwise same as the first.

Tape Mounts

Click "Monitor" and "Tape Mounts". You'll get

This shows you what tapes are being requested. Tapes are mounted for migration and for retrival for restores.
