I modified the way the calendar is updated. When you want to add a vacation day for yourself, instead of updating:
/usr/local/htdocs/ast/calendar/xxxYY.html
on neruda, update:
/ux01/gurus/events
wherever. The calendar is now generated by a cgi "script" that reads this file and the /ux01/gurus/unix_guru and /ux01/gurus/phones to build the calendar on the fly.
Each line in the events file consists of a date and an html snippet describing the event (such as a vacation day). Having html in the events file is somewhat awkward, but it is extremely flexible.

PS: You may have to click "reload" on the main AST page before you can click "calendar" (and you may have to update your own bookmarks if you have any).
