======== Students ========

Now that you're settled in to the new school year, we want to say hello and remind you there are rules and regulations regarding use of computing resources that you'll want to read about and follow.

Here are a few tips:

o Chain mail is against policy and could be illegal, so please don't send or forward any. In general, don't send unwanted email to anyone.

o Your Uniform Access computing account is provided for your educational work at the University. Once you create an account on any UW computer, you're responsible for all use made of that account, so remember not to share your account or your password.

o Most software, images, and files available for use on computer networks, including the Web, are protected by federal copyright laws. It's University of Washington policy to respect federal copyright and license protections.

o Reports of illegal activities or policy violations will be turned over to the appropriate authorities and could result in revocation of access, suspension of accounts, disciplinary actions, and prosecution.
