LDAP Authorization/White Pages

Description of Project
Many organizations and individuals will need to access to an
LDAP-based directory service. AST is researching ways to build
this service into the existing infrastructure.
Status as of 11/13/97
Donn created a
prototype
LDAP staff directory which uses
the University of Michigan code. As this code is no longer
supported, Tom Remmers is looking into alternatives using
Netscape and NT Active Directory. Donn's server is
compatible with MS Outlook Express as a UW address book.
Both Tracy and Tom have experimented with using LDAP to communicate
with the new accounting
database,
shuksan.
