Astronomy on Tap: Feb 17th

Bad Jimmy’s

February 17, 2016 @ 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Each FREE Astronomy on Tap event features acceAoTFeb2016ssible, engaging science presentations on topics ranging from planets to black holes to the beginning of the Universe. Most events have games and prizes to test and reward your new-found knowledge! There is always lots of time to ask questions and interact with the presenters and other scientists who inevitably stick around for the beer.

Originally founded in NYC, this is our eleventh month in Seattle presented by graduate students in astronomy at the University of Washington. We’re thrilled to be hosted by Ballard’s own Bad Jimmy’s who will have ~9 beers (and plenty of astronomy) on tap.

THIS MONTH we will be featuring talks by UW astronomers Dr. John Parejko on “Detect the Ancient Universe Like a BOSS” and Dr. Fabio Governato on “Dark Matter, Black Holes and other reasons to work with NASA’s fastest supercomputer: Pleiades”.
