UW Mobile Planetarium

About the Mobile Planetarium

The UW Mobile Planetarium lets UW students bring Universe down from space and into science fairs and other public spaces. We also work closely with science teachers to help their students create tours of the Universe, presented in the UW Mobile Planetarium.

The planetarium’s dome is an inflatable Go-Dome. We run Microsoft Research’s World Wide Telescope software on a laptop computer. A large hemispherical mirror projects the image from the back of the dome to create an immersive experience for the audience.
