General Information
The Women's Action Commission
is one of seven diversity commissions founded by the Associated Students
of the University of Washington. Each commission has a mandate to put
on educational programs each quarter, as well as serve as an advocate
for its constituency within the student government and the administration.
Over the years, WAC has put on many fun and successful programs, including
our annual co-sponsorship of the Vagina Monologues, an equity pay bakesale,
self defense trainings, and our co-sponsorship of last year's Indigo
Girls concert.
If you want to
get involved in the Women's Action Commission, you can come by our office
in HUB 201, call us at 206-543-1817,
or email us at asuwomn@u.washington.edu. WAC also has
weekly meetings, where WAC members can hear about upcoming events and
programs, discuss women's issues, meet fellow feminists, and learn about
volunteer opportunities. WAC meetings are an excellent way to get involved
in the ASUW and the campus community.
Fall quarter
WAC meetings will be on Tuesdays at 5:00 in the WAC office (HUB 201).
When you come
to a WAC meeting, you'll generally find two things: neat people, and free
food. We don't know anyone who doesn't want to meet cool people and eat
free food, so please come on by.
