Welcome to another wonderful year for the
Pacific Islander Student movement! This year I am excited to serve as the
fifth Commissioner of the Pacific Islander Student Commission at the
University of Washington. PISC exists to represent the needs of Pacific
Islander student needs on campus, be it social, educational, political, or
cultural. Because of our successful partnerships with other UW departments,
we have had a successful last year. Our affiliations with the Office of
Minority Affairs, the American Ethnic Studies Department and the Department
of Anthropology have yielded success. Also working with the Ethnic Cultural
Center, has enhanced our student programming on campus. Also our connections to the students
themselves can not be accomplished without the close partnerships we have
with the Polynesian Student Alliance, the Micronesian Islands Club, the
Filipino American Student Association and Hui Hoaloha' Ulana. They truly are
the reasons for which our commission was created. Please feel free to look around, and if
