*Washington AAC Funding Task Force:
The Washington State AAC Task Force has begun to put together information about writing letters of justification to third party payers to justify new or updated AAC equipment. We began with the format that WA State DSHS requires for all AAC letters of justification and then modified the guidelines based on our experience writing such letters. Here are the members of this task force:

Task Force Members:
Pat Dowden, Ph.D., CCC-Sp, University of Washington
Mia Emerson, CCC-SLP, Spokane School District
Barbaralyn Harden, CCC-SLP, Federal Way School District
Kathleen M. Smith, CCC-SLP, Fircrest School
Janis Pock, MA, CCC-S, Seattle School District & Special
Education Technology Center

While the task force has assisted me in my research, I am solely responsible for any errors in the material that is presented here. Please direct all comments to me, Pat Dowden, at tcollab@u.washington.edu
