At the School of Dentistry’s annual Research Day on Jan 30, 2018, B4T member and 2nd year dental student Mark Van Duker was announced as the third position winner of the Summer Research Fellowship (SURF) Student Clinician Competition, following classmates Kristie Cheng and Taylor Wilkins. Mark spent the summer studying the effect of silver diamine fluoride and potassium iodide on bonding to caries-affected dentin supervision of  Dr. Sadr. Another B4T member, Vernon Zander studied the preventive effects of silver diamine fluoride and potassium iodide on root caries in the lab. Both will present their findings in the 2018 American Association for Dental Research meeting in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
