I missed playing ultimate frisbee, so I found the Ogres Frisbiju Klubs on the internet. We met once to twice a week in the Ogres gym. It was all indoors- quite a transistion from playing on the muddy fields of Seattle. The indoor game goes much quicker with fewer players on the court at a time. The Latvians were quite skilled and very quick. |

The first time I met the group, they were playing in a tournament. The flags on the wall, as seen in the picture on the left, represent the different countries playing. There was Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Russia, and Finland and Sweden. It was great to find a frisbee group in Latvia and the team was very friendly and competitive. I would love to go back and play in their beach tournament held every summer in Jurmala. |
